Miss Spitfire

Are you running out of books to read again?  I know that with me I hate when I don’t have anything to read.  I just got a new book called Miss Spitfire.  I got it yesterday and I already finished it.  For those of you who like Helen Keller, you will love this book.  In the beginning, it tells about Miss Sullivan’s life.   Here is a little bit of information about Miss Sullivan.  Miss Sullivan graduated from Perkins Institute.  She is from Feeding Hills, Massachusetts.  To compare, Helen Keller is from Alabama and Miss  Anne Sullivan has never been outside Massachusetts.  The book is in Anne’s point of view.   Anne is partially blind and her eyes are red and swollen.   It explains what Helen and Anne go through and what steps that she had to accomplish  This is what the title looks like (see picture below).  Go to your local library and ask your librarian.  It has 208 pages.  It also has additional pictures of Helen, Anne, Perkins Institute, and other exciting pictures.

Do you like Helen Keller?

Do you know any other books that you like about Helen Keller or Anne Sullivan?

Falling Everywhere!

Knowing that I live in New England, when you see my title “Falling Everywhere” you might think that I am referring to snow.  But actually I am talking about me falling.  Throughout the vacation, I have been falling a lot.  When we went skiing, roller skating, and ice skating I kept falling.  Yesterday I went ice skating in Newton, MA. If you do not live in Massachusetts, cranberry bogs are fields that get flooded because cranberries need a lot of water.  In the winter the flooded water freezes and becomes a place where people can ice skate.  We usually skate outside but it was snowing and really cold so we didn’t.

In this picture, they are harvesting the cranberries in the fall.  The burgundy color you see is the cranberries.

There were a lot of teenagers that were really good skaters.  They were zooming past me and when I did just one lap they did about five laps.  That was my first time ice skating this year.  It was really fun though.  My cousins went with us.  Ella, Ella’s dad, Molly, Kate, Liam, and their mom.  They had a really fun time too.  It was really fun falling and seeing my sister fall.  We both were laughing so much.  It was really hard to get up though.  I finally did it.  After skating when we came home, I noticed that there were huge bruises on my legs.  I guess it was from the awesome vacation we had. 🙂

Rainbow Shoes

When you think of rainbows what do you think of?  I am reminded of shoes.   Rainbow shoes.  In fourth grade my father went to Japan for a business trip.  Before he went, he showed me a catalog.  In there I saw the most colorful   shoes I had seen.  After my dad returned he brought back a pair of rainbow sneakers.  At the time, they were only available in Japan.  Imagine how I felt went I grew out of them.  I knew that my dad couldn’t go to Japan just to get another pair of such unique sneakers.   This year, they started selling them in the USA.  Today we went to the Legacy Place in Dedham, Massachusetts.   We went into the New Balance store and I found them!  If you want your very own pair then head down to Legacy Place.  If you want to see what they look like, I will show you the picture below!  Enjoy!

Do they look cool?

Would you want your own pair?

Phantom Gourmet

My family and I went to Clyde’s in Foxboro on route 1 on our way to Boston.  It was so good.  I have been thinking, and I want to recommend restaurants for people to try.  I went to Clyde’s and the service was excellent.  We had a really nice waitress named Stephanie.  She was so funny and sweet.  The place was really inviting and kid friendly.  The buffalo wings were excellent.  I had a taste of my sister’s fish and chips.  The fish was huge!  It covered most of the plate.  The fries weren’t any old boring fries.  The fries had an unidentified spice that was so good and spicy.  My dad had the pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes.  The pulled pork was okay but the potatoes were so good!  They kind of tasted like my mom’s famous potatoes.  The restaurant was an overall success.

The sign just so you can recognize the restaurant.

Have you ever been to Clyde’s?
Do you have any good restaurants that you like?

Rollerskating

Today I went rollerskating with my friend Ashley.  It was a fundraiser for our daycare.  It really fun.  I never knew that rollerskating could be that hard.  Some friends like Ashley, Marshall, and Tyler were really fast so they used roller blades.  I cannot roller skate  never mind roller blade.  I still had a really fun time.  We went to a place called Carousel Family Fun Center  in  Whitman. I insist that you go.  I had a blast!

Keep Calm

I found this really cool app called “Keep Calm And”.  It is where you can make really cool posters.  You can make the theme anything from military, to animals, to dance.  You can use them in a lot of different ways, to motivate yourself, to make someone’s day, or just for fun.   I spend a lot of time on the app.  I made one for all of my family members.  My mother, my sister, and me.  I also made one for the military.  Tell me if you like the app.  Since my sister loves Harry Styles I did one for Harry.  I also did one for my mother.  She loves vacation, I wouldn’t blame her.  So I did a vacation one for her.  Check them out below that all of them that I made.

Do you think you will use this app?

Hope you enjoy!  Tell me your thoughts!

Skiing for the First Time!

Today I am going skiing with my cousins and my older sister Carly.  I am really excited.  I love being with my cousins because they are really fun to hang out with them.  We are skiing at this place called it is Carlisle.  Since it was my first time I fell a couple of times, well most of the time.  We went cross country skiing which is a little different.  Cross country is just skiing on flat land.  With this one there was one big hill.  I tried skiing down it but I ended up falling and so I just slid on my belly down the hill.  It was so much fun!  I really recommend going skiing with your family or friends sometimes.  It really brings you closer together.

A Strawberry and Peach Sensation

Yesterday I really wanted to make a smoothie.  So I just added random ingredients and it tasted really good.    I figured that some people would want to try it.  I wrote down all of my ingredients so I would remember.  I also took a picture of all the ingredients if you want to see what I am talking about.  I wanted to share my recipe with all of you.  It is really easy to do.  It is as easy as putting on a shoe.

Ingredients:

  • blender
  • vanilla
  • orange juice
  • two strawberries
  • ice
  • peach flavored yogurt
  • banana
  • sugar
  • milk

Instructions:

  • ask a parent to help you make the smoothie
  • find a blender and have a parent plug the blender into an out lit
  • put a small  paper cup of ice into the blender
  • put a small dash of vanilla
  • also add a small pinch of sugar too
  • have a parent do this, wash and pluck of the stem, then cut the  two strawberries in half and half again.
  • cut the banana in half and then peel the banana.
  • get a couple of ice cubes and throw it into the blender
  • pour in a little orange juice and white milk

A Day with the Sweetest Kids

I went to Ellie and Cooper’s house last Tuesday.  My sister and I played with Ellie and Cooper.  I played dress up with her.   The only problem was that her costumes she had were a little too small for me. 🙂  I love visiting them.  When Cooper was sleeping, Ellie decided it would be a good idea to wake him up.  Luckily, after I turned his vibrating button on to his chair he went right back to sleep.

A Day at the Providence Bruins Game

On Valentine’s Day my step dad Brad said that he had an exciting surprise.  He said gave us a clue.  He said that we would go into Providence.  I thought we would have a nice lunch down in Providence but it much more exiting than that.

We are going to the Providence Bruins game today.  It is at 3:05.  The Providence Bruins are playing against the Worcester Sharks.  I really hope that I get on the jumbo screen.  I have never went on the jumbo screen but it is always really funny watching people  when they realize that they do get on.   Their faces on the big screen for all to see. 🙂

The Bruins won 3 to 1.  The Bruins took 29 shots and the Sharks took 33 shots.  Unfortunately I didn’t make it onto the jumbo screen.  I saw the camera and it was always pointed to the left and I was on the right.  Even though I didn’t make it onto the jumbo screen the game was really fun.  I highly recommend going to the game.  I had a blast.  We had really good seats.  I suggest you go to the Providence Bruins’ website and get your tickets there and then you just pick them up at the door.  That way you wouldn’t have to worry about tickets selling out, and you would get better seats that way.  We were about three or four seats away for the first row.  I really think you would all enjoy it! 😆

A really creative painting we saw on our way to the stadium.
