Chop Chop

Chop Chop is a wonderful magazine that has yummy do it yourself foods that brings families closer.    Chop Chop has amazing recipes to make your after school snacks delicious and healthy.   A really yummy snack that popped out at me was the Sunshine Smoothie.  Here is the recipe that you can make at home.  

Kitchen Gear

  • Measuring cup
  • Measuring spoons
  • A dinner knife
  • Cutting board
  • A blender

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup of plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ice cubes

Instructions

1.  Put all the ingredients in the blender

2. Put the top on tightly.  Turn the blender to a medium setting and blend until the ice is chopped and the mixture smooth, about a minute.  

3. Serve right away or you can store it in a thermos or covered in the refrigerator, up to 4 hrs.

  1. Natalie makes so many yummy smoothies for the family. I bought one of the small handheld “stick” immersion blenders and Natalie does everything herself. It’s not only delicious, but nutritious. It’s wonderful for those of us who are thinking about bathing suit weather to substitute a smoothie for any of the usual high fat snacks we love (like Ben &Jerry’s Néw York Superfudge ice cream)!
